A Wee Taster Burns Night...Traditional Ceilidh Music

Celebrate Scotland's national Bard with our Wee Taster Burns Supper. Forget the long drawn out, formal occasions that Burns himself was never a fan of. Our Wee Taster gives you just that - a wee taste of Rabbie Burns. We've taken out all the formal stuffiness and left you with all the best bits.

How does it work?
You supply the food and drink and we'll supply the entertainment. Simple as that!

The Nicht's Ongauns

  • A piper's welcome for you and your guests
  • Chairperson's opening address - a few welcoming words to start the evening.
  • The meal commences with soup after Burns' famous grace, The Selkirk Grace.
  • A piper leads the chef, carrying the haggis to the top table and the haggis is addressed with "To A Haggis".
  • Your guests then enjoy the remaining part of the meal, traditionally haggis, neeps and tatties and bannocks and cheese.
  • After the interval, your guests are entertained with some song or music from one of our traditional entertainers.
  • Following the songs, A Toast to Scotia - a light hearted short speech on Burns and all things Scottish.
  • The Toast to Scotia is followed by another piece of verse such as the Toast to the Lassies or one of Burns famous poems such as Holly Willie's Prayer or Tam o' Shanter.
  • Some more songs or music for your guests to sing along to and then the chairman's vote of thanks.
  • Following an interval, the evening will culminate with a ceilidh dance from one of our fantastic bands.

Phew - you'll need to catch your breathe after all that!
